Water Valve Closure
Annual Water Valve Closure
This is a reminder that beginning October 1st of each year, through April 1st, all service valves must be in the closed position when a home is unattended.
When a service valve is found in the open position during the winter months, and no occupancy has been observed for a few days or more, the service valve will be closed without notification to the owner. Although this has not been a persistent problem since the policy was adopted, please understand this is not voluntary and must be complied with even if the water line valve is closed inside the home. This makes it easier to check to verify each home is isolated in case a water leak develops during the winter months when it is difficult to access and close water main valves located in the roads.
